ANGEL EXPRESS QUAD TO REPLACE GREEN CHAIR

Castle Mountain Resort, Alberta (April 1, 2024) – Castle Mountain Resort is proud to announce that it has finalized plans for the re-installation of the recently acquired Angel Express Quad, from Sunshine Village, at Castle Mountain Resort. The resort intends to use its new acquisition to replace the existing Green Chairlift, which currently services Castle’s learning area.

With Angel Chair being significantly longer than the existing Green Chair, only 4 of Angel’s 23 towers will need to be used once reinstalled. The resort intends to only use the best looking 4 towers for the lift and then use the remaining 19 towers in an eye-catching multi-story art piece, adjacent to the north parking lot, visible to all guests arriving at the resort.

While some may question the rationale behind using less than 10 percent of Angel, once reinstalled at Castle, the resort’s General Manager insists that this is the best use of the new chairlift. “We are committed to accelerating learning with the new high speed quad chair” said Al Pine, Castle Mountain Resort’s GM. “With this new, express lift, people will learn the sport twice as fast as they’ve been able to, in the past. You can’t beat that!”

With the 100 excess chairs that will not fit on the shortened lift, the resort plans use 50 of them to install spectator seating at the bottom of the Chutes to provide guests with front row seats to the longest uninterrupted fall line skiing in North America. The remaining 50 seats will be installed along North Road for guests to use as rest stops to avoid leg fatigue.

If that all sounds a little bit outlandish, it’s because it totally is – there isn’t an ounce of truth to any of the above (outside of the fact that we are indeed still acquiring Angel Express from Sunshine). We hope you had a laugh or, at the very least, an eyeroll. A hearty April Fools to you and yours, from the Castle team.

In all seriousness, planning for the subsequent reinstallation of Angel Chair, at Castle Mountain Resort, continues. The resort’s Board of Directors and Senior Leadership continues to work diligently on a plan for Angel, with a reinstallation location and timeline to be announced in the months to follow.
